Van Vechten & Company is 25-year-old, full-service international marketing communications agency. In the late 1990s the company moved its headquarters from New York City to Boca Raton, Fla. The agency offers the full complement of general public relations and marketing support services, but places special emphasis on its track record in pharmaceuticals and healthcare.
In the last decade the firm has won more than a dozen prestigious national and international awards for its innovative programs for clients like The American Dental Association, Johnson & Johnson, McNeil Consumer Products Company and Janssen Pharmaceutica. Among the honors it has received was the coveted Edison Award, given by the American Marketing Association for the Best Marketing Program of the year. VV&C also received a Presidential Citation for its national AIDS awareness campaign debunking a call for mandatory AIDS testing of all health care workers and replacing it with the need for all healthcare providers to utilize universal precautions in treating all patients, not just those at high risk of carrying HIV.
VV&C has worked in 32 countries from Europe to Asia. It introduced DHL overnight courier service to China, inaugurated AEROFLOT?s nonstop service from Moscow to New York, launched IMODIUM A.D., represented the ?I Love New York? tourism account in Europe, publicized the Miss Universe and Miss USA Pageants, introduced REACH Toothbrushes, launched Arthritis Foundation Pain Relievers with spokesperson Julie Andrews, put the first pay phones on commercial airliners for SKY-TEL, represented the Vatican in protecting biblical sites in the Middle East, spent 10 years promoting HOUSE BEAUTIFUL Magazine, and has participated in the national and international introductions of more than two dozen ethical drugs and life-saving compounds.
The agency is particularly proud of its work in disabilities, having spent the last five years working in tandem with Johnson & Johnson to bring a new personal mobility device to market for people with disabilities.
